Blackwell Earthmoving, part of the Hargreaves group, has almost 70 years of experience preparing the ground for large-scale road, rail and airport projects. Its teams specialise in complex earthmoving schemes, providing early engineering support through to final testing and handover for multi-million-pound projects.
Technology, teamwork and practical delivery sit at the heart of Blackwell’s operations. The business uses innovative drone technology to map large-scale earthmoving projects with accuracy and efficiency, alongside a modern fleet of excavators, dozers, scrapers and dump trucks fitted with the latest technology. This includes battery-operated excavators as part of our journey towards carbon-free earthworks by 2040.
The wider Hargreaves group brings further capability to major infrastructure projects through our Minerals division. We supply low-carbon secondary and recycled aggregates into major schemes, including projects delivered by Blackwell Earthmoving. These materials are sourced through our own and alternative supply routes, supported by our capabilities in port handling, material screening, delivery and on-site materials handling.
Our services can also support land remediation, including the screening and removal of waste materials, helping prepare sites for future use and supporting projects of varying scale and complexity.
Hargreaves Land adds another important dimension to our connectivity offer. Our extensive land portfolio has been used over many years to support infrastructure and clean energy projects. Today, our team of planning consultants and developers can provide expertise in the repurposing of land, including the sourcing and preparation of sites for data centres that help digitally connect people and businesses.
